Qingdao's Police Chief Resigns over Subordinate's Wrongdoing

Wan Guozhong, head of the Police Bureau in Qingdao -- a coastal city in Shandong Province resigned July 29, for a subordinate's blowing the gaff on anti-porn and gambling campaign, Chinadaily reported Friday.

Police from the bureau at Qingdao, a deputy-ministerial city in East China's Shandong, said a new director is to be appointed.

Earlier on June 29, deputy director of Sifang District Police Bureau Liu Wei leaked the secret by mobile phone to a nightclub, leading the action to failure.

Liu, though not known the detail of the secret action he was summoned, still phoned the "Dafuhao Night Club" and made the outlaws get prepared.

Qingdao local government paid great attention to the case and handed severe punishment to Liu.

Liu was removed from his post, expelled from the Communist Party of China and kicked out the police team.

Liu, once the head of the Buxin Road police station, was said to frequent Dafuhao, which is in his beat domain.
