According to a deal signed in Shanghai on Thursday, a 30-kilometer long dam will be constructed 10 kilometers away from land at Wusong's minor 5 meters isobath beach and land will be reclaimed within.

The 1.08 billion yuan (US$130 million) project was designed by the Shanghai Man-Made Peninsula Construction Development Io. Ltv. and the Shangshi Housing Development Group.

The marine-reclamation-land undertaking, which begins from Shipile Port in the north and ends at Huijiao in the south, will be completed in three phases.
