Severe Drought In Eastern Chinese Province
Eastern China's Anhui Province has been hit by a severe drought since June, due to long bouts of hot weather and lack of rain.
The drought covers an area of 1.3 million ha, and has caused a loss of 1.5 billion yuan. There are also serious water shortages for 2.49 million people.
The province has injected 230 million yuan and utilized all kinds of equipment to tackle the drought.
