Qinghua University to Have More CPC Members Among Young Teachers

About 140 young teachers in China 's prestigious Qinghua University have recently applied for the membership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), as part of the university's efforts to cultivate excellent youth.

According to Thursday's "Guangming Daily", over 100 young teachers joined the CPC between 1994 and 1998.

The university sources noted that young teachers not only take the responsibility of training successors of the socialist system, but they are the successors themselves, and will greatly influence the development and future of Qinghua.

Qinghua University have tried hard to created favorable environment for young teachers including appointing 201 young teachers to professors and raising special housing fund for young teachers.

An official with the university disclosed that 74.6 percent of the 122 Qinghua professors under the age of 45 are CPC members.
