Nanjing to Host Art Festival

China's Sixth Arts Festival will be held from September 28 to October 10 in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province in east China.

Together with domestic troupes, over 430 foreign artists from nine overseas artistic groups will stage some 80 performances. They include an Austrian philharmonic orchestra, a German Corps de Ballet, and a song and dance ensemble from Guinea.

Besides Nanjing, performances will also be given in four other major cities in the economically developed province.

The triennial arts festival is the biggest showcase of China's artistic achievements, and it aims to promote international cooperation in the field of culture.
