China's Major Official Website Re-openedWWW.CHINA.ORG.CN , an official website run by the China Internet News Center, was re-opened today after a two month-long renovation.The website, one of the five largest in the country, was founded in 1997 mainly for informing overseas surfers of China's government policies and economic achievements. The upgrading is aimed at increasing its capability to provide more information, enlarging its coverage and improving its services, according to official sources. The website adopts 10 languages, including Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Italian and Esperanto. With the assistance of a large team of language experts from the China Foreign Language Press, the website is expected to provide surfers with authoritative, accurate and timely information, the sources noted. |
