School-Run Science Parks Develop Smoothly in China

Fifteen university-based science parks have been developing smoothly in China over the past year.

This was learned at a national conference on university-run science parks in Wuhan, the provincial capital of central Hubei Province.

Officials from the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education attended the meeting. In their speeches, officials stressed the importance of these science parks in promoting the integration of science and technology, education and the economy.

Science parks have become effective in industrializing new technology, the officials said.
