International Tourism Trade Fair in Chengde

The First International Trade Fair on Tourism Culture is to be held on August 28-31 in Chengde, a renowned city in north China's Hebei Province for its landscape and historical and cultural heritages.

Commercial exhibitions, economic and trade negotiations, tourism activities and performances during the fair are expected to create opportunities for foreign investment in the local tourism, said Chengde city government officials.

The fair is held by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPI) along with the Hebei provincial government and the Chengde municipal government.

Chengde is enriched with beautiful natural sceneries and historical relics. The Summer Mountain Villa, a temporary imperial palace for emperors Kangxi and Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), has become popular nowadays for Chinese and overseas tourists to evade summer heat.

Covering an area of 5.6 million square meters, the Summer Mountain Villa is the largest remaining classical imperial garden architecture in China and boasts all kinds of classical Chinese architectural structures.
