China to Get Over 16 Golds in Coming Olympics

China may get more than 16 gold medals in the coming Sydney Olympics, predicated Li Furong, head of China's Olympic delegation, according to Chinadaily.

He said that China enjoys advantages in diving, gymnastics, weight-lifting, table tennis, badminton, shooting, women judo, track and field events. The athletes may also win champions at men's foil, women boat racing, women cycling and taekwondo, he added.

Li, also deputy-director of China's State Sport General Administration, noted that the United States and Russia will be the top two big powers in the world rally which begins on September 15.

If China wants to in the third place, he said, Chinese athletes should at least win 25 golds.
