Hi-Tech Product Export on Increase in Shandong

East China's Shandong Province exported 297 million US dollars worth of new and hi-tech products in the first half of the year, local Customs statistics show.

The figure was up 52.6 percent from the same period last year. The increase rate was 15 percentage points higher than that of the province's total export.

Products in computer and communications, electronics, and life science accounted for 58.8 percent of Qingdao's total export value of new and hi-tech products, the statistics show.

Computer and communications products made a big proportion of 176 million US dollars in export value, or about 60 percent of the total export of new and hi-tech products.

Electronic products were valued at 64 million US dollars and products in life science 40 million US dollars.
