China Develops Key Part of Nuclear Power Reactor
China announced Wednesday that it has developed the core part of a nuclear power reactor that has a generating capacity of one million kilowatts.
The core part is made for the nuclear power station in Ling'ao in south China's Guangdong province. This is the second large-scale commercial nuclear station that the province built after the completion of the Daya Bay nuclear station.
The 127-ton core part of the nuclear reactor is developed by Shanghai No.1 Tool Works in cooperation with Framatone Group from France.
The Shanghai company took three years to develop and make the core part, laying a sound foundation for localizing the technology of producing nuclear reactors in China.
