In a telephone conversation with South Korean President Kim Dae- jung, Putin stressed the significance of growing trust between Seoul and Pyongyang, the Interfax news agency quoted the Kremlin press service as saying.

Putin also briefed Kim on his recent foreign trips and the G-8 summit in Okinawa, Japan, where a Korean Peninsula settlement was widely discussed.
