China Has 20 Tibetan Language Newspapers
China has nearly 20 Tibetan language newspapers, according to a national meeting of Tibetan newspapers held in this northwestern capital city Tuesday.
Representatives from 13 Tibetan language newspapers in five provinces and autonomous regions in the country attended the meeting.
They discussed such issued as expanding sources of information, increasing circulation and improving quality of the newspapers.
They said special attention should be paid to the country's move to accelerate development of China's western regions. There are now more than 4.59 million Tibetan people living in various parts of China.
The meeting was the third of its kind in recent years.
