Uganda Hails Media Cooperation With China

Ugandan Minister of Information Basoga Nsadhu said here Tuesday that media cooperation between his country and China will further promote bilateral exchanges in fields of economy, culture and education.

He made these remarks when Xinhua News Agency of China donated a satellite station equipment to the Uganda television station to help it receive news and photos from Xinhua.

Nsadhu said at the handover ceremony that China's assistance to Uganda has upgraded technological facilities of the country's press operations.

"China is the one which understands us and provides assistance to us continuously in the past years and the Ugandans are grateful," he said.

At the handover ceremony, Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Zhang Xujiang hailed the contributions of the press of Uganda and China to deepening the mutual understanding and enhancing exchanges between the two peoples, saying that China will continue to promote its friendly cooperation with Uganda in various fields.
