China, Thailand to Strengthen Tourism Cooperation

China and Thailand have reached an agreement on strengthening cooperation in the tourism industry.

Sources say that 800,000 Chinese visited Thailand in 1999, and China has become Thailand's third-largest tourist source. Meanwhile, more than 100,000 Thai people visited China last year.

However, some visitors have complained about price and service problems.

A delegation from Yunnan provincial tourism bureau has visited Thailand recently, discussing ways to solve the problems. Yunnan is a southwest China province adjacent to Thailand.

Sources also say that China, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore will hold a meeting this month on improving the tourism environment.
