Chinese Talent Discuss Development of Tibet

Thirty doctors from seven Chinese prestigious universities including Beijing and Qinghua universities have been making study tours in Tibet since the beginning of July to explore ways for the development of this southwest China autonomous region.

During their stay in Tibet, they held discussions with local government officials and representatives from enterprises on topics involving scientific and technological development and education, and held training courses for local industrial and mineral enterprises, government organs and schools.

Many of them expressed the intention to work in Tibet, where they said that they can make full use of local rich natural, tourism and cultural resources in their research work.

Qinghua University signed a contract with the regional government on the development of science and technology, technological consultation and service, as well as personnel training.

Nanjing Teachers' University, Tibet University and Lhasa Teachers' University have agreed to conduct a long-term cooperation.

China has in the past weeks sent 2,000 doctors to make study tours in Xinjiang, Tibet and other areas in the country's vast western region.
