Tibet Hails 45 Years of China-Nepal Diplomatic Ties

Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region held a reception Monday evening to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal.

Chairman of the regional people's government Legqog said in his speech that, during the 45 years, the friendly relationship between the two countries has set an example for countries of different political systems and conditions to coexist peacefully, help each other and conduct friendly cooperation. In recent years, cooperation between the two sides has been developing rapidly in the fields of trade, tourism and culture, and he expects bigger development in the future.

General consul of the Kingdom of Nepal in Lhasa said that the traditional friendship between the two peoples dates back to ancient times, which developed continuously after the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1955.

On behalf of Nepal and its government, he reiterates that Nepal will never permit any anti-China activities conducted in its territory; Nepal adheres to the One-China policy and recognizes that Tibet is an inalienable part of Chinese territory; Nepal supports China in the issues of Taiwan and Human Rights.
