For the convenience of foreign travelers who change flights between the two airports in Shanghai, with the approval of the department concerned, beginning from January 1, this year, all foreign travelers who are in transit through the Pudong International Airport and the Hongqiao International Airport within 24 hours can be visa-free and citizens of some countries can even enjoy this favorable treatment for 48 hours. No charge is required of such travelers while performing visa-free formalities. This new policy has been welcomed by foreign travelers.
