State Councilor Wu Yi Meets Foreign Ministers of Rio Group
Chinese State Councilor Wu Yi met Monday with three foreign ministers of the Rio Group, namely from Columbia, Mexico and Chile.
Wu said China pays great attention to its political dialog and cooperation with the Rio Group, and wishes to expand in the new century relations with the Rio Group in the political, economic, scientific and technological areas.
Foreign Minister Guillermo Fernandez de Soto of Columbia made a speech this morning to mark the 10th anniversary of the political dialog relations between China and the Rio Group. He, together with foreign ministers of Mexico and Chile, also answered questions concerning the relations between China and the Rio Group.
The three ministers arrived here Sunday for a seven-day official visit. Chinese President Jiang Zemin and Premier Zhu Rongji met with them on Monday at the seaside resort of Beidaihe, about 300 km east of the Chinese capital.
