Visa-Free for Foreign Travelers in Transit Through Shanghai Airports
According to statistics from the Shanghai Entry and Exit General Frontier Inspection Station, since the regulation on visa-free for foreign travelers who are in transit for 48 hours was put into effect in Shanghai on January 1 this year, a total of 1,000 foreign travelers have been benefited from this regulation.
Shanghai is the only city with two international airports in China's inland. For the convenience of foreign travelers who change flights between the two airports in Shanghai, with the approval of the department concerned, beginning from January 1, this year, all foreign travelers who are in transit through the Pudong International Airport and the Hongqiao International Airport within 24 hours can be visa-free and citizens of some countries can even enjoy this favorable treatment for 48 hours. No charge is required of such travelers while performing visa-free formalities.
This new policy has been welcomed by foreign travelers. A German traveler has said that this new policy has brought great convenience to foreign investors for their passing in and out of Shanghai.
