Shenzhen to See Digital TV Programs on Trial Transmission This Year

Document was recently issued by the State Development Planning Commission, authorizing Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen to conduct digital TV research and development for a trial industrialization of the industry. Shenzhen is going to transmit high definition TV programs within this year.

The city has as learned allocated special fund to erect a tower for TV transmission on Wutong Hills and when completed the tower will be able to cover the Pearl River Delta, Macao, Hong Kong and other places. The city has asserted to stop transmitting the simulation TV by 2005 and switch to that with 30 sets of standardized TV programs of high definition.
