Beijing to Hold Book Fair
The Fifth Book Festival of Beijing will be held September 8-18.
A spokesperson for the Beijing municipal government on Friday said the city is confident that this year's festival will be an impressive success. Held every two years, the book festival has become an important cultural activity on the work agenda of the municipal government.
Since it was first staged in 1991, it has grown with each event. The biggest yet was the last fair where half a million people spent an unprecedented 20 million yuan (US$2.4 million).
