DPRK,ROK Ministerial Meeting ClosesDPRK and ROK on Monday agreed to hold a second round of ministerial talks in Pyongyang Aug. 29-31.A joint statement issued at the end of the first meeting between ROK Unification Minister Park Jae-kyu and Jon Kum-jin, a DPRK senior cabinet counselor, also agreed on reopening the inter-Korean liaison offices in Panmunjom Aug. 15. Agreements were also made on the reconstruction of the railway linking Seoul and Shinuiju, a DPRK border city with China, a visit to ROK by members of Chochongnyon, a Korean residents association in Japan and holding the ceremonies in the two Koreas and abroad to support the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration. ROK Vice Culture and Tourism Minister Kim Soon-kyo, the spokesman for the ROK delegation to the meeting, released the statement at the Shilla Hotel, the venue for the meeting, at 10 a.m. |
