Chinese Oceanologists Talk On Future of Oceans

Four famous Chinese oceanologists gathered in Qingdao on July 30 discussing the future of the oceans in the next century on television on July 30 to seven million citizens in Qingdao, a coastal city in east China's Shandong province.

That live program is part of an international forum on oceanic science-technology and economic development which opened on July 30.

Local media said that it's the first time that Chinese oceanologists have appeared on TV.

Over 70 Chinese scientists and overseas experts, scholars and business people are attending the two-day forum.

The forum is sponsored by the Development and Research Center of the State Council, the Ministry of Land and Resources, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the China Association for Science and Technology, and the State Environmental Protection Administration.
