Chinese Pilots to Perform Stunt Flights

Chinese pilots will fly homemade light aircraft through a bridge arch, which stands 6 meters high and 30 meters long over the Taihu Lake. This is known from a news release on "Stunt Flying Grand Prix Championships Around Taihu Lake, Wuxian County, China 2000". The championships are designed as a 4-day competition to be held on October 6 to challenge the Guinness records.

Approved by authoritative departments concerned, the 4-day championships will include such colorful competition items as of light aircraft flights, flying fire balloons, power parachuting and parachute jumping from airplanes. World top 12 stunt flight pilots and 16 flying teams from Chinese aviation clubs will join in the events.

Co-sponsored by the International Aviation Association and Chinese Aviation Association, organized by the people's government of Wuxian County and helped by local tourist departments and sports clubs, the championships will be set in a water area near Grand Taihu Bridge in Wuxian County.
