Chinese FM Arrives in Singapore

Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan arrived in Singapore Sunday afternoon for an official visit to Singapore at the invitation of Singapore Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law S. Jayakumar.

During his two-day visit, Tang will meet his Singapore counterpart Jayakumar and call on Singapore Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong and Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew separately.

Singapore is the last leg of the minister's current four-Asian nation tour which has taken him to India, Pakistan and Thailand where he attended the first Foreign Ministers' Meeting of ASEAN- China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK), the 7th Foreign Ministers' Meeting of ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), the 33rd Foreign Ministers' Meeting of Post Ministerial Conference, and ASEAN-China Dialogue Meeting last week.

Tang will leave Singapore for home Tuesday.
