Chinese FM Leaves Bangkok

Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan left Bangkok Saturday for the Thai city of Haiyat, about 1, 000 kilometers south of Bangkok, after attending a series of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) meetings.

Arriving in Bangkok Thursday morning after his formal visit to India and Pakistan, Tang has attended the 7th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) and a series of ASEAN meetings with its 10 dialogue partners here between July 27 and 29.

At the sideline of the meetings, he also held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from several ASEAN countries, other ASEAN dialogue countries or ARF members.

On these occasions, Tang reiterated China's stand and positions on critical security, political and economic issues at bilateral, regional and international levels.

Tang will leave Haiyat for Singapore for a formal visit Sunday morning.
