Series on Chinese Painting and Calligraphy PublishedA fourteen-volume book on Chinese painting and calligraphy has been published by the Shanghai Publishing House.The volumes contains 400 important classics on Chinese painting and calligraphy dating back before 221 B.C. to the Qing Dynasty ( 1644-1911). "It provides a wealth of information on painting and calligraphy," said Lu Fusheng, chief editor of the book and editor- in-chief of the publishing House. It took the editors 10 to complete the volumes, Lu said, adding that the editors search for materials from libraries, museums and private collectors across China, including Taiwan. The volumes has been praised by scholars and research institutes in the United States, Japan, Lu said. |
