Tianjin University Enhances Exchanges with Russian Universities

The Tianjin University in north China recently signed cooperative contracts with four Russia's renowned universities.

With such contracts, more frequent exchanges among professors and scholars are expected between Tianjin University and M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, N.E. Bauman Moscow State Technical University, St. Petersburg State Technical University, and Moscow Power Engineering Institute.

Hu Xiaotang, vice-president of Tianjin University said since 1991 the University has invited over 40 professors from some ten Russian universities to his university, and some 40 Tianjin University professors or scholars have been to Russia either for lectures or for research programs.

Hu said the exchange activities are now expanding into hi-tech programs. Professors are now cooperating in programs such as diesel engines research, electric engineering and hard disk control on electric power systems.

All the involved have shown strong enthusiasm in cooperating in the future in automatization, fine machinery, management science and telecommunications.
