Senior CPC Official Meets Russian Guests

Jia Qinglin, member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) Central Committee, met with a Russian delegation led by Sergey Aleksa Ndrovich Popov, deputy chairman of the Political Council and chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Unity Party, Thursday in Beijing.

Jia, who is also secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, said that the CPC is willing to further the friendly ties with the Russian Unity Party.

He said that the CPC attaches great importance to developing inter-party relations. He added that the CPC is willing to exchange and cooperate with political parties in the world under the principles of independence, mutual respect, full equality, and non-interference in each other's internal affairs.

He said that he believes the visit by the Russian party will enhance the understanding and cooperation between the two political parties and push forward the Sino-Russian friendly ties.

Popov said that his party is also willing to strengthen exchange and cooperation with the CPC and to share experiences with China in the reforms and opening-up drive and the economic construction.

The Russian guests are here at the invitation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.
