China, Japan Reach Semifinals of Asian Juniors Handball Championship

China, Japan, South Korea and Chinese Taipei reached the semifinals of the 6th Asian Women Juniors Handball Championship Thursday after the last three group matches.

Chinese Taipei booked the last seat for the semifinals, eliminating India 39-17 in the last group engagement. With the day 's feat, Chinese Taipei finished Group A runners-up to play the second semifinal against Group B winners Japan on Saturday.

Defending champions South Korea, which emerged as Group A winners with a perfect record after defeating Nepal 40-6, will meet Group B runners-up China in the first semifinal also on Saturday.

In Thursday's first match, Japan drew 19-19 with China to finish Group-B winners by better goal difference. China, which ensured the semifinal berth after beating the host team 29-12, placed second in the group.
