CAS, SWHT Tie Up to Develop Redflag Linux

China Academy of Sciences (CAS) Wednesday announced that it will jointly develop Redflag Linux operating system with Hong Kong-based Sun Wah High-tech Group (SWHT).

SWHT, the high-tech arm of the Sun Wah Group, became the first master dealer of Redflag's products. It will run Redflag's first Linux training and technical centre in Asia and participate in developing Redflag's traditional Chinese-version of Linux system, one of the three operating systems, besides Unix and Microsoft's Windows.

The initial target markets outside the mainland will be Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan.
