Shandong Has Over 3 Million Mobile Phone Users
The number of mobile phone subscribers in east China's Shandong Province, which ranks the third in the country in GDP, has reached 3.09 million.
According to Li Huabin, general manager of the provincial mobile phone company, the great majority of the users were added in the past two years.
Shandong has increased its handling capacity of local mobile communications exchanges to 5.6 million lines, providing services to 98 percent of local towns and roaming more than 60 countries and regions.
The province has given priority to the construction of local mobile communication networks, the improvement of services in tourist attractions, and the development of other new mobile communication services.
