First Insurance Brokers Company Opens in Shanghai
Shanghai Dongda Insurance Brokers Co., Ltd., opened its doors Wednesday in Shanghai, China's leading financial center.
Last December the China Insurance Regulatory Commission approved the establishment of the country's first group of three insurance brokers companies, in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou.
Shanghai Dongda Insurance Brokers was sponsored by 11 large enterprise groups including Shanghai Foreign Service Co. and Shanghai Jinjiang (Group) Holding Company.
Services offered by the newly-established company include insurance consultation, risk analysis, formulation of insurance plans, and risk management.
The company also offers reinsurance brokerage services for Chinese and foreign insurance companies.
At the inauguration ceremony, Dongda signed risk management and insurance advisory service agreements with Shanghai Foreign Service Co. and Shanghai Jinjiang (Group) Holding Company.
China has been witnessing a rapid growth of the insurance industry, and insurance brokers are badly needed in the country.
