China Satisfied with Financial Cooperation Among Asian Countries: Tang
Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan said he is satisfied with the concrete cooperation in the financial area among the Asian countries so far and hoped that the ASEAN+3 will focus its cooperation in the areas of finance, economy and science and technology.
Tang said this at the first ASEAN+3 (China, Japan, South Korea) foreign ministers meeting Wednesday.
Also, Tang suggested that expert groups be set up to take care of cooperation in science and technology within the framework of ASEAN+3.
In addition, Tang talked about the future development direction of ASEAN+3, as well as about how to further enhance the relations of good-neighborliness, mutual trust and mutual cooperation among the East Asian countries.
In the afternoon, Tang attended a luncheon given by Bhichai Rattakul, president of the Thai national assembly in honor of the foreign ministers who are here for a series of ASEAN meetings.
He will attend a formal working dinner for the ASEAN Regional Forum foreign ministers in the afternoon.
