Regional Cooperation Proposed Among Asian Nations

Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia and China signed a proposal recently to initiate technological and economic cooperation in the Altay area.

The Altay Regional Cooperative Proposal was signed during the three-day-long Altay International Seminar on Technological and Economic Cooperation, which was held between July 19-21 in the Altay City of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwest China.

With the proposal, the four Asian nations will work together to improve a cooperation on the livestock raising, crop farming, pollution-free mining industries and international tourism and will strive for more support from the international community.

The Altay region is made up of parts of Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia and China. It is rich in natural resources and is the home of many rare animals and plants.

Some 47 representatives from the four countries took part in the seminar. Every two years, each of the four nation will host an international seminar.
