Multimedia Mobile Internet Service Launched in HK

Hutchison Telecom, Casio and Siemens announced in HongKong Wednesday that they will cooperate to provide a new wireless Internet service to customers as from next month.

Through Orange mobile network, run by Hutchison Telecom, customers will be able to enjoy Internet service with CASSIOPEIA EM-500 Pocket PC, a new product of Casio, and the Siemens 35 series mobile phones.

CASSIOPEIA, with a palm-sized touch-panel LCD display, supports multimedia software that can play a variety of digital content, including still images, video and MP3 audio. It also enables users to manage personal information with pre-installed Microsoft Pocket Word, Microsoft Pocket Excel and Microsoft Outlook.

The new service is targeted at the youngsters among the estimated 1.4 million mobile subscribers of Hutchison Telecom, which represents the largest share of Hong Kong mobile telecom market.
