China Appoints New Ambassadors

President Jiang Zemin appointed and replaced a number of ambassadors to foreign countries Wednesoday in accordance with a decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

Wan Yongxiang was appointed ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Federative Republic of Brazil, replacing Li Guoxin.

Wu Chuanfu was appointed ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Swiss Confederation, replacing Zhou Zizhong.

Qu Wenming was appointed ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam, replacing Wang Jianli.

Liu Junxiu was appointed ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Ecuador, replacing Zhang Hongzhao.

Wu Zhenglong was appointed ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, replacing Wang Fuyuan.

Hou Qingru was appointed ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Zimbabwe, replacing Huang Guifang.

Hu Qianwen was appointed ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the People's Republic of Bangladesh, replacing Wang Chungui.

Jiang Qinzheng was appointed ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and to the Republic of Maldives, replacing Zhang Yun.

Zhao Xuechang was appointed ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Sultanate of Oman, replacing Wang Xiaozhuang.

Zhou Xiuhua was appointed ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the State of Qatar, replacing Gao Wenxian.

Zhang Xianyi was appointed ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Lesotho, replacing Chen Laiyuan.

Chen Laiyuan was appointed ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Namibia, replacing Tang Zhenqi.

Hou Guixin was appointed ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Seychelles, replacing Wang Xinshi.
