Tibetan Local Leader Meets Thai Ambassador

Raidi, chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of the Tibet Autonomous Region, met with Nikhom Tantemsapya, Thai ambassador to China, and his party, Tuesday.

During the meeting, Raidi said that China and Thailand, two friendly neighbors, have maintained close contact in recent years, adding that the recent visit to Thailand by Chinese Vice-President Hu Jintao shows the continuous development of friendship between the two countries.

He said that he hopes the Thai ambassador will know more about Tibet after the visit.

The Thai guests have viewed some monasteries and historical sites after arriving in Lhasa on Sunday.
