13 Killed in Military Plane Crash

A military plane crashed Tuesday during a training flight, killing all 13 soldiers on board, a military official said. The crash occurred at 6 a.m. near the desert village of Dabaan, 30 miles east of the Jordanian capital, Amman. The official said the C-130 Royal Air Force plane reported a mechanical problem before it crashed. The C-130 is one of a dozen military cargo planes the United States donated to Jordan in 1996 to reward it for signing a peace treaty with Israel two years earlier.
