Large Fishery Built in LhasaSupported by a fund of 300,000 yuan from Jiangsu province, a large fishery named Sangzhulin has been completed in Dagze County of the Tibet Autonomous Region. Taking up an area of over 300 mu, it is the biggest fish breeding base in Lhasa to date.Dagze County, a small town rich in water resources, was given priority in construction by the State. Backed by Jiangsu and local authorities, four big fisheries have been established there, covering a total area of 1,000 mu. Located more than 20 km away from Lhasa, Dagze County is a town with the suburban economy as the main means of increasing local incomes. Construction of fisheries is aimed at developing an economy with local characteristics. The Sangzhulin fishing ground has put in 3 million fry and, with technological guides provided by the freshwater fish center of the Ministry of Agriculture, has promised an estimated output of about 90,000 kg fish. In addition, five species of fish fry from Taihu Lake of Jiangsu will be introduced this year. It is reported there are many rare fish species in the Namu Lake and Yadong area of Tibet which are suitable for the plateau environment. Sangzhulin fishery will work hard to explore a new way to breed and export those fish species. What's more, relevant departments of Jiangsu have also promised to continue their financial and technical support, so as to help Lhasa explore new way for fishery development. |
