Beijing to Hold International Wushu Invitational Tournament

The third Beijing International Wushu Invitational Tournament will be held in Chaoyang Gym from August 8 to 9.

The events in this tournament include set, freestyle and traditional forms; bare-handed and weapon sparring, shadowboxing, sword forms, and collective performances, etc. To date, 210 competitors on 25 teams from 19 countries will participate in the tournament.

Since it began in 1994, the Beijing International Wushu Invitational Tournament has become a pageant for wushu practitioners to build friendships and exchange tricks of the trade. The third wushu invitational is working with the city of Beijing to apply to host the Olympic Games and promote wushu to the world. More countries have sent teams to attend this year's invitational than past years. Because the third Beijing International Wushu Invitational Tournament will be held before other tournaments on other continents, it will be a warm-up match for many wushu teams. Thus, the level of competition is very high.
