Tourism bureaus of southwest China's Sichuan Province and Tibet Autonomous Region will jointly launch a month-long tour program themed "Approaching Tibet" in August.
The program is designed to help tourists and adventurers learn more about Tibet, according to local tourism officials.
Starting from Chengdu, the provincial capital of Sichuan, in mid-August, the tour group will travel along the Sichuan-Tibet highway passing a number of famous rivers, lakes and historical sites in Tibet to the foot of Mt. Qomolangma, also known as Mt. Everest.
The team will consist of Chinese journalists, photographers, tourists between 18-45 years old.
