Shanghai Mayor Meets Russian Foreign Minister

Shanghai Mayor Xu Kuangdi said Monday that Shanghai wishes to expand the exchange with Russia in areas of hi-tech, energy, commerce and culture.

Xu made the remark in a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov, who arrived in Shanghai Sunday from Tokyo at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Tang Jiaxuan.

Ivanov said that Russia will actively develop its economic and trade cooperation with countries in the Asia-Pacific region, especially China.
