China to Certify Image-makers

Chinese image-makers must receive official certification before they can take on clients, an official with the Ministry of Culture said Friday.

The ministry has set up an appraisal committee for image-makers nationwide who are now actively employed in the business of beautifying their clients -- mostly actors and actresses.

The committee, consisting of experts in fashion design and makeup, will begin the appraisals in September.

The appraisals will be held every two years, the official said.

The committee will group qualified image-makers into four categories and issue certificates accordingly.
