Cross-Straits Seminar on Dunhuang Studies Opens
Some 100 scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Straits Friday gathered in this capital city of northwest China's Gansu Province to attend a seminar on Dunhuang studies.
The seminar is part of the activities celebrating the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the Library Cave at the famed Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang.
The seminar was sponsored by Lanzhou University, one of the most prestigious universities in China.
A publisher from Taiwan donated a number of books on Dunhuang studies to Lanzhou University at today's seminar.
Participants to the seminar will also make a research tour along part of the famous Silk Road after the seminar, organizers said.
