Chinese Foreign Minister Visits India

Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan arrived in India on Friday evening for a one-day official visit to India.

Tang is the most senior Chinese official to pay a formal visit to India since India conducted nuclear tests in May, 1998.

He is expected to hold talks with his Indian counterpart External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh and also call on Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Saturday.
