NE China City to Host Intl. Tourism Festival

An International tourism festival featuring the Yalujiang River bordering China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will be hosted from September 19- 25 in Dandong City, Liaoning Province.

The festival, which will be jointly sponsored by the Liaoning provincial tourism bureau and the Dandong city government, includes such activities as sports, culture and trade.

Among the activities, the crossing-river swimming, tour photo show, trade fair and exhibitions on tourism souvenir are major ones.

Tourists to the festival will also have a chance to view some historical sites and landscapes in the city and in the DPRK.

The 795 km-long Yalujiang River, is owned by China and the DPRK.
