Changhong Company Presents Color TVs to Tibet
Changhong Group, a major TV producer based in southwest China's Sichuan Province, Thursday presented 50 color TV sets to this capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region.
This was part of the efforts by Changhong to help people in remote areas like Tibet get more contact with the outside world.
Lhasa has so far set up 232 TV satellite ground stations. The city government plans to allocate one million yuan (about 120,000 U.S. dollars) this year from the local budget to set up another 108 such stations in seven counties and one district by October 1.
