The Panyu branch of the Guangzhou Customs in of south China's Guangdong Province seized 416 tons of smuggled gasoline valued at 1.25 million yuan (about 150,602 U.S. dollars) in a 6-day campaign earlier this month.
A total of eight vessels carrying the smuggled gasoline stopped in the case which the customs said was the largest Panyu customs office handled this year.
In the first half this year, customs officers with Guangzhou, provincial capital of Guangdong, smashed altogether 141 oil product smuggling cases, seized 2,733 tons of ready-made oils with a market value of 6.73 million yuan (810,800 U.S. dollars), and confiscated 135 vessels.
